Greystone Alloys found us because their WordPress site had been hacked. They recovered the site, but they wanted to check under the hood. We uncovered lingering malware and an aging site that had been terribly neglected, resulting in the compromised site and downtime for more than a week. Unfortunately, the loss of business and income is still immeasurable. Like a car that has never had an oil change, they were experiencing poor performance and several backfires.
We rebuilt the site on the latest version of WordPress using the Genesis Framework, updated and replaced deprecated plugins, migrated to WPEngine managed WordPress hosting, optimized content and HTML source code for on-page SEO, and implemented the Cloudflare CDN.
The original skin incorporates good design and represents Greystone well. We spruced up a few pages and eliminated outdated sliders in favor of easy-to-view galleries. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
The end result? The site is ripping fast. Google Core Web Vitals score improved from 68 to 93. Organic traffic to the site increased 355% on Google, 633% on Bing, and 5500% on Yahoo. (No, those aren’t typos.) Pay-per-click advertising on Google and Bing is down 63% and 25% respectively. Conversions are up 20% year over year. We’d say this engine rebuild is a huge success. We continue to improve processes and site productivity alongside Greystone. Is your site working for you? Reach out anytime. We are glad to help!
