Jean Liu approached Tempora in 2012 when Jean Liu Design was nearing its fifth birthday. Jean wanted to update her website with a fresh look that would attract potential new clients. At that time, the site was a single page showing her logo and contact information. An image also changed every few seconds displaying some of her recent work. It was simple and lovely but Jean Liu Design had outgrown it. As any good designer would, Jean arrived at our first meeting with hand-drawn sketches and lots of good questions like “Can my website do this?”
Looking to the future, we transitioned Jean from her simple HTML site to a WordPress content management site that would accommodate her growing business. We developed the site using the Genesis Framework and a customized StudioPress theme. The new site had four pages! Fast-forward eight years and three reskins (fresh new looks) later. The current custom-designed site by Tempora still reflects Jean’s edited aesthetic with only three pages and a portfolio section featuring Jean Liu Design’s amazing body of work.
It’s been a pleasure to work with Jean and watch her grow her company from a one-woman show to four employees, a beautiful studio, quotes in the WSJ, and her work gracing the pages of Traditional Home, Town & Country, Architectural Digest, and even the cover of House Beautiful.
